Cafe Rowan: A Culinary Delight in Portland's Vibrant Dining Scene

Loved Chable’s Birria Rancheros so much that I came back the next day to try something else on the menu. The Rancheros is almost a fusion of a rancheros and chilaquiles because of the fried tortilla. I loved the crunch! The serving size was perfect for me. I left full, but not so full I didn’t want to do anything after. The house made verde hot sauce was the perfect heat, and was very flavorful. The next day, I took the Rowan Sandwich to go. The blueberry jam was a nice offset to a pretty tradition bacon, egg sando. Held up well as a to go as well. Service was quick, the staff was nice and put a smile on my face two days in a row. 10/10 would recommend

We got a weekend special ($20 IIRC) for a Lobster Roll with an alcoholic drink (maybe sangria?). The lobster roll was tasty and the bread was buttery and crispy! Definitely would want to go back to try the other dishes like the French Toast, Eggs Benedict, and sandwiches. I also got a matcha latte with oat milk, but it was alright and I probably wouldn’t get again. The portions felt a bit small, but other dishes like the sandwich looked fairly large. Service was nice and staff was very friendly. The space felt a bit cramped and our tables were all very close to each other. The atmosphere wasn’t totally relaxing and it didn’t feel like a place we could sit and chat for a while since it was so busy. With how full it got, I felt pressured to leave after finishing. Parking lot is an attached lot that’s shared with other businesses, so it could get full. Street parking seems hard, though we haven’t tried parking in the area yet.

Adorable little cafe with a bright, airy, and inviting atmosphere, with quality, inventive dishes that leave you wanting more! Had the crab benedict and it was everything I could’ve asked for, and more! The plate was well put together, the flavors all combined perfectly, none outcompeting or overbearing. The chefs here put a lot of care into the presentation and preparation, and the waitstaff are friendly, inviting, helpful, and have great attitudes that make this spot well worth stopping at.

My sister and I went to brunch here. I got a very tasty salmon and lox eggs benedict and she got shrimp and grits. We also got drip coffee (free refills!) and a double mimosas (properly strong). We got there right when they opened and it was clearly a popular spot as it filled up quickly. The staff were attentive and the food was awesome. Highly recommend!

The brunch was good, but the portion were quite small given the price. I wish the brioche was more bigger than it was. We had to order extra bread to finish the plate. However, it took 10mins for two pieces bread to be delivered, and there were hella BURNT. I have no words.

Wow! Decadent and delightful food!! My lobster roll with truffle aioli and garlic butter on a toasted brioche bun knocked me out from the first bite!! Pricey ($25) and incredibly good. My wife said the coffee was great quality. And the service was very friendly and helpful- even on a busy Sunday. We ran into some friends and they got the lobster Benedict (the crab ran out) and it looked so delicious! One of their children got a lobster roll and the other the Bananas Foster French toast (see photo). These are stand out dishes. High quality and deep flavors are the style here. Highly recommended!

Might be favorite brunch! The benedicts are great. The hollandaise is the best I've had. Great sandwiches. Handsome sous chef. I like the order up front style. It's quick service. I feel bad for the hosts that are clearly trying to seat people but the party of 6 who finished eating 15 minutes ago won't relinquish their table LOL.

An absolute BANGER of a breakfast/brunch spot. Gotta put your name down upon arrival and wait for a table that suits your party size. I was only a party of one, so I was able to be seated at the counter next to another party of one as there were no parties of two ahead of us and there were only two seats available. I think a larger party size put their name down ahead of us, but they had to wait a bit longer for a table to accommodate them. The wait wasn’t all that long, though, even though I’d have waited longer for that burrito bc GOSH, it was delicious. I got the Vegetarian burrito and added bacon. My new favorite breakfast burrito in the city, hands down. Atmosphere was great, service was great. I’ll definitely be coming back (maybe with some friends this time.)
